Fuego Volcano ERUPTS Twice at Sunrise! Glowing Lava, Dark Ash & Near Pyroclastic Flow (Oct 16, 2026)
afarTV
Two spectacular eruptions from Fuego Volcano in Guatemala light up the summit at sunrise on October 16, 2026, including a large glowing explosion followed minutes later by another powerful eruption that sends a massive cloud of dark volcanic ash into the sky. The first eruption launches intensely glowing volcanic material above the crater, creating a dramatic display against the early morning sky. Just minutes later, Fuego erupts again. This second explosion produces a large, dense plume of dark ash, with volcanic material beginning to descend the upper slopes. The activity appears to briefly develop the beginnings of a pyroclastic density current, but the descending material does not develop into a sustained pyroclastic flow. Pyroclastic density currents are dangerous, fast-moving mixture
