World Indigenous Women’s Day | Meet the women from the community of Huacaria, in the Peruvian Amazon
Amazon Conservation
On September 5th, we honor both World Indigenous Women’s Day and Amazon Day - a date celebrated in Brazil that reminds us all of the urgency to protect this vital biome for the planet. From the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, we celebrate these days by highlighting the work of 14 Indigenous women from the Machiguenga, Wachiperi, and Quechua peoples in the community of Huacaria. Through their artisanal crafts, they keep their culture alive while protecting the forest around them. We are proud to stand with these women through our sister organization Conservación Amazónica–ACCA, strengthening their traditions and leadership. You too can join us in this effort—wherever you are. 💚 👉 Donate now: https://www.amazonconservation.org/take-action/ways-to-give/ #WorldIndigenousWomensDay #AmazonDay #R
