Explore the Middle East after dark, where moonlight reveals desert landscapes and city lights shine against the surrounding wilderness. This nighttime journey from Iraq to Oman offers a remarkably clear view of Earth illuminated by both moonlight and human activity. Created from 3,750 sequential photographs captured from the International Space Station on September 24, 2026, this 8K timelapse follows a photographed ground track over Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.
