Rare Look At Sea Wolves That Swim Between Islands In The Open Ocean | Deep Dive North America
Love Nature
In this episode of Deep Dive North America, we head into the Great Bear Rainforest, the largest temperate rainforest on Earth, to search for these elusive coastal wolves. Sea wolves are smaller than inland grey wolves and genetically distinct from them. They get up to 85% of their diet from the ocean and have been found on islands more than 10 km from the mainland. The search takes fresh pup tracks on the beach, long nights in a hide, and the discovery of a wolf pack feeding on a grey whale carcass alongside a black bear. Finding a sea wolf is a real test of patience.
